Why you should use tags when adding blog posts.

Tags are simple words or phrases that are attached to blog posts. You can think of tags as categories or labels that you add to your blog articles to simply and effectively describe their content. Using tags will help you find everything you add to your blog and search relevant information on other blogs. Just look at the "NAALBF Tags" section on the right column; it lists different subjects that are on the NAALBF blog. The larger the word, the more that was written about it.

You will find a similar feature, “Popular Tags”, on the Members' Blogs page: www.naalbf.com/blog. The Popular Tags section lists different labels used by all NAALBF Members. This "tag cloud" is easy to scan and gives you an idea on what subjects your community is writing about. Clicking on any of the tags will allow you to see all blog articles that discuss that topic.

It is good to check what labels other members use before attaching tags to your blog, Tagging is useless when we describe the same thing each time differently. If your blog article talks about damaged aircraft parts, and the Popular Tag cloud uses damaged parts, go with the damaged parts label, and your blog will be categorized properly and easy for others to find.

Happy Tagging,
